06th October 2017 (Friday) - Today we saw this Notice of "Do Not Feed The Pigeons" which was installed recently at Kenyalang Park, Kuching by The Local Council, Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS).
According to this Notice, Public cooperation is much appreciated and needed as Pigeons spread Disease and Mites, Dirty our Public spaces and the Left-over Pigeon Food might attract Rats which can cause Food Poisoning in that Food Outlets area.
This place is the empty place where public normally feed these Pigeons openly.

With regards of Clearer Understanding and Explanation on why this Notice was installed, Kuching Food Critics makes some homework by asking & studying with Mr. Google.
According to a website named www.cdc.gov, Pigeons can spread disease such as Meningitis which is usually caused by fungus spreading through blood to the spinal cord. Although anyone can get fungal meningitis, people with weakened immune systems are at increased risk.

* Cryptococcus - is thought to be acquired through inhaling soil contaminated with bird droppings.
* Histoplasma - is found in environments with heavy contamination or bird or bat droppings.

For people with weak immune systems like those who is infected with AIDS, Diabetes, or Cancer, treatment is often longer than the normal one.
